Kites

Why do kites fly and how can we make them fly even better? By learning about the forces which create flight and how to use the right materials. Put all this learning together into a great kite design.

Our kites primary workshop is very hands on which children love. Its also packed full of science.

We don’t just teach the science of forces and materials, or put on a show of flying a kite. At a Hands on Science workshop every child makes their own kite to fly in the session. They then take it home for even more fun and games. There is plenty of extension activities for parents too!

By the end of this session you will all know why a kite needs a Bridle Point, Cross Spar and Tail. You will also learn how to find its centre of gravity.  This workshop is ideal for the summer term.
