Transport Systems in Plants

We learn about capillary action and use it to make a scientific gift for Mum or Dad – ideal for Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts.

By the end of Transport System in Plants your children will be familiar with the biological terms for plants.  Of course everyone will be make practical use of this knowledge.

Each child will know how to examine a plant and be able to identify the stem, xylem, veins and leaves. They will also be able to describe transpiration, capillary action and photosynthesis.

There is a lovely experiment for everyone to do which shows how plants transport nutrients and water.

Every child will love creating a hand made gift for mum or dad.
