This adaptation and camouflage workshop brings to life how animals and humans adapt to survive. Lots of fascinating visual aids and a great practical too.

In this brand new workshop children learn of the threats Cheetahs are facing, the pressures on many of our habitats and the importance of maintaining diversity in the health of individual species as well as our planet.

CSI Biometrics is pupil led – they learn how to investigate and identify someone, using their unique physical characteristics. This workshop has been recently improved to include CSI Fingerprints and it works from Reception to Yr 6.

We explore Samantha the child sized skeleton and learn about her major bones, how to keep them healthy and the meaning of good nutrition.

We investigate what our teeth tell us about human beings. Let’s study model animal jaws and compare them with humans.

Each child takes their fingerprints. We then show them how to identify them and find the characteristics that make them unique.

We learn about capillary action and use it to make a scientific gift for Mum or Dad – ideal for Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts.

What is the name of the family that worms belong to? Can you name the different parts of a worm? Do you know which bits of a worm are hairy?

How can we revive a dehydrated, hungry cold kitten? By using fair tests, everyday materials and the right concentration of nourishing solutions.
